Are you Neurodivergent and struggle with Time Management?

MANY individuals with dyslexia often continue to struggle because of a weak Working Memory, even long after good literacy skills have been established. So, in a busy work environment that is increasingly flooded with information, professionals need to stay on track, prioritise activities and overcome the constant distractions that slow productivity.

Before Cogmed I was not able to remember the six digit pin verification that flashed on my screen. I was re-reading material and I was very forgetful of details. Now, those things are a thing of the past

Working Memory is the ability to keep information in mind for brief periods of time and is closely linked to fluid intelligence, which is crucial for professional success. The association between Dyslexia and a weak working memory has been well-established in research. Read RC’s success story here.

Neuroscientists have called Working Memory “the brain’s search engine” because it is what allows us to locate and retrieve information at a moment’s notice. A strong Working Memory empowers a professional to perform well under pressure, remain organised and prioritise activities.

In 2001, neuroscientists at the renowned Karolinska Institute in Sweden discovered that Working Memory, long thought to be a fixed characteristic, could be significantly improved through focused training. This led to measurable gains in daily life for those who completed training and to the development of Cogmed Working Memory Training. This proven program has since successfully boosted concentration/focus for thousands of children and adults worldwide. Cogmed is used in over 20 countries, boasts 200,000 users and has had over 120 studies on its effectiveness.

There are three protocols for training depending on the user

  1. 25-Day Training - 5 Weeks - (45mins five days per week)

  2. 60-Day Training - 6 Weeks (35 mins five days per week)

  3. 80-Day Training - 8 Weeks (25mins five days per week)

The training can be completed at your desk on your PC without leaving the office. Users who complete training show improvements in:

  • Time management

  • Shutting out distractions

  • Complex thinking

  • Organising and prioritising activities

  • Focusing under pressure

  • Starting, remaining focused and completing tasks.

  • Processing and remembering what one is reading

  • symptoms of menopause

I’ve found Cogmed very difficult but it was worth the effort and a great feeling to finish

Cogmed Focus is for adults and comes with a detailed analysis of the specific difficulties and tasks causing problems for the individual. It also contains additional strategies and ideas for improved performance in the workplace. Read KV’s success story here.

Cogmed Focus is offered by Raviv Practice London, along with other specifically targeted interventions. We believe that rather than just finding ways around the weaker areas and finding more effective coping mechanisms, the underlying weaknesses should also be targeted and improved upon.
