Workshop – 2 day training in Bal-A-Vis-X
Empower yourself
Raviv Practice London has been the first organisation to use Bal-A-Vis-X in the UK since 2009, and is very honoured to be able to provide this training programme to parents, schools and therapists via our closely-linked, sister organisation Integrated Brain . The 2 day workshop takes place in Central London, but candidates travel from far and wide to take part in this much sought after programme.
It is a cost effective way to get help in place of seeing a special needs therapist. The 2–day workshop is practical and hands on. Once you are empowered, you are free to work with your child in your own setting and see progress in as little as six weeks. Empower yourself to help your child when they are most receptive to working.
Integrated Brain are also the European suppliers for Bal-A-Vis-X materials and media, all of which can be purchased during training.
What is Bal-A-Vis-X?
Bal-A-Vis-X is a movement-based programme developed for use in schools by teacher Bill Hubert, from Kansas, USA.
Bal-A-Vis-X is a series of more than 300 Balance, Auditory and Vision exercises of varied complexity, which are deeply rooted in rhythm. These exercises require full body co-ordination and focused attention. The program utilitizes sand-filled bags, racquetballs and balance boards, and are progressive in nature. Individuals start at their developmental level, with exercises gradually increasing in complexity as the person is more able to cope. We use minimal language to force the individual to observe carefully and follow. The fundamental building blocks of the exercises are all based around the same principles and grounded in specific techniques. The teacher uses these techniques to enable the student to succeed at each level. Children go from seated passing exercises to bouncing multiple balls in no time! The initial perception is that of difficultly, but once the techniques are employed, the children feel an enormous amount of satisfaction.
Bal-A-Vis-X is offered as a standalone programme where requested in schools and individual settings. It is also offered as part of the bespoke One-to-One Therapy program to children and adults with special educational needs.
Usha Patel, Learning Difficulties Therapist and Director of Raviv Practice London, is sanctioned by Bill Hubert as both practitioner and Trainer. She has been using Bal-A-Vis-X since 2009 in her therapy setting.
